EDM No. 47 has support of 54 MPs – and on course for 100+ before end of parliamentary session. If your MP is not on the list, then they should be urged to add their signature and express support in any way they can http://www.parliament.uk/edm/2014-15/47
Campaign of Action – Write to Home Secretary Theresa May
Home Secretary Theresa May made a commitment to work to improve trans* peoples’ lives, signing the ministerial foreword of government action plan on trans* equality as Home Secretary and Minister for Equalities (see P.5) https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/85498/transgender-action-plan.pdf.
Theresa May now has direct overall responsibility for HM Passport Office and it is time she honoured her earlier commitment to address the barriers that prevent trans* people, including non-gendered people, from participation within society and the economy.
Again, I remind everyone who cares about this issue should write to the Home Secretary and demand the door on ‘X’ passports is reopened.
