Fighting for legal and social recognition outside the gendered societal structure
Twitter has removed an unnecessary and discriminatory requirement that users should enter a gendered role when setting up an account. You can now find me at https://twitter.com/ChristieElanCan if you’d like to subscribe to receive tweet alerts for latest information updates.
Or you can just read the latest on this site which will continue as main hub for information.
I am informed we now have cross party sponsorship for the tabling of Early Day Motion (EDM) in support of ‘X’ passports in the UK. EDM will be tabled by my parliamentary representative The Rt Hon Simon Hughes MP and I will update further once this is done. In the meantime, I will continue to ask that you ALL contact your local MP and request they support the motion.
Another reminder that petitions are still active and receiving signatures – if you have already signed then please continue to circulate these links – we have hundreds of signatures for both petitions but these two key elements of the issue as summarised in the petitions should be attracting THOUSANDS of supporters. We can do much, much better.
SOCIAL EXCLUSION IS NOT A LIFESTYLE CHOICE.
Legitimate identity is a FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT and it is UNACCEPTABLE that anyone should be excluded from the mainstream of a society that proclaims itself a democracy, rendered socially invisible and denied a legitimate identity on the basis that their identity does not conveniently conform with the ‘accepted’ social perception that all human identity is limited to male or female.
Petitions will remain open until such times that the government and society at large begin to address this issue – and the people affected by this issue – with the urgency and the respect that is desperately required – and the objectives are achieved.
