Fighting for legal and social recognition outside the gendered societal structure
In support of ‘X’ passports in the United Kingdom
The petition for ‘X’ passports in the UK has gone to the Identity and Passport Service and I am awaiting a response.
The petition had over 600 signatures and I am keeping petition open for a while longer because I am hopeful that many more people will sign when they get to hear about it
The IPS review is due to end in February (due to secretive nature of the whole process, I do not have any indication of which date in February) and then I understand that ministers will decide whether to amend the current discriminatory policy, although again the details are unfortunately very hazy.
I will update here as soon as I get some news.
In the meantime, the other petition is still running and I will work to progress this once the passports issue has reached a conclusion. There is no set date for presentation as yet. You can sign to support ‘Legal protection for all trans* and intersex in the UK’ by clicking here http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/legal-protection-for-all-trans-and-intersex-in-the-uk.html
The denial of existence is the worst act of discrimination by the gendered majority against the non-gendered
